The first steps in the Papier Mâché process...
It has taken Te Kinga students 3 weeks to make the shells for their animal masks. We have also been learning about the history of Papier Mâché and looking at artists who use it to make amazing sculptures and models for movies/television.
We started with balloon templates |
A very 'hands-on' process! |
We used drawings and plasticine to make 3D models of what we want our masks to look like.
As this process takes a LONG TIME we'll update our progress in a few weeks!
Our 'Name-Tunes'... can you create one of your own?!
