 ASB Netball Tournament 

This week a group of our Te Kinga students represented the school in the ASB Netball Tournament. Here are some of the highlights - we came fourth in the competition! Sophie-Lee did an awesome job as Captain on the day!

NZ Fire Service - Education with Zak

We have been really lucky to have lessons with Zac from the NZFS. We are learning 

about fire prevention and keeping ourselves safe around fire. This week we looked at smoke alarms - are your smoke alarms present, clean and working in your home? 

BASKETBALL NEWS

LAKERS WIN THE B GRADE FINAL on Saturday 20th August. 

With a final score of 39-38 to us, you can only imagine how exciting this game was against St Patricks...an extra well done for Blake and Atiulagi for winning the MVP awards!

Week 3 Term 3

 Monday Night Basketball 

Our senior team 'The Brunner Lakers' have been leading their competition at the Greymouth rec Centre all season. If we win our semi-finals on Monday 15th, we'll be in the finals on Saturday 20th...we'll keep you posted - go Lakers!

Name Raps

This week for a writing challenge we made up a short rap with our name as the rhyming word - this was really hard for some people! We had lots of fun listening to the final results - some people even dressed up for their performances...

West-a-Maths 2022

This week our Year 6's, 7's, and 8's represented the school in the West-a-Maths competition at Westland High. The teams all worked really hard on the challenging questions and enjoyed the experience.

Week 2 Term 3

 Champorado - Yummy food in Year 6 Technology

This week we had the pleasure of having Di (Brianna's Mum), come in and cook Champorado with us. Champorado is a Filipino chocolate rice pudding and it is SO YUMMY that I forgot to take a photo of the students with the finished product! The whole school got to sample the delicious work from the kitchen...

Very simple ingredients; sticky rice, condensed milk, cocoa and coconut cream.

Our new outdoor space...

The Te Kinga classroom now has new doors and a deck! When it hasn't been raining, we have been making the most of the new space - especially by using it as a stage for our role-plays in topic. Our room is really bright and airy now too!
