Extending and sharing our learning at the end of Term 2!
After a term of learning about the history of Aotearoa through the lens of water, over the past few weeks Te Kinga have been creating new activities based on our topic. Here are some of the highlights...
Solomon and Flynn learnt to make snares just like Kehu made on his travels with Thomas Brunner - then they taught the rest of the class how to do it!
Blake and Solomon caught a rat (not in a snare but in a modern trap). Looks like it's been there for a while!
Sophie-Lee and Jimi carefully wove a fish basket/trap - unfortunately there weren't many fish around on our day at the lake!
Uriah and Leo have been working on some amazing art with surrealism and shipwrecks as an inspiration.
Kaelyn wrote a play for others to perform in about the bombing of the Rainbow Warrior...
Tui, Mackenzie and Zoe wrote a play about the sinking of the Wahine, as did Morgan, Anika and Grace!
Krystal, Skye made a Kahoot and then treating the class to a treasure hunt using images as clues. Jacqueline and Aroha made also made a Kahoots and invented a really fun game called 'Lighthouse' for everyone to play. Tara and Makayla made a challenging 'Survivor' quiz game about lighthouses!
And of course we are always grateful that we get to spend our school days in this beautiful place!
